EUGENE PARAMOER

the spiritual dialectic between story and change, dreaming and transformation, art and struggle has been the leitmotif of eugene paramoer’s creative life. an activist during the 80’s rebellion on cape town’s cape flats, he found rebirth inside the creative frame of the moving sound- picture.

paramoer works as an activist in the kinokadre community cinema circle, the imbawula trust and the frontline street- culture coalition. he also recently joined equal education as the film facilitator for amazwi wethu. all these initiatives explore practically how culture and story can be used in aid of social transformation.

paramoer’s latest creative project is the community based, film- creating process; days and nights of love and faya.

LYNDAL POTTIER

Lyndal enjoys being around creative, energetic, interesting, passionate people and that’s why she finds a home in Amazwi Wethu.

She finds it important to create spaces where people can come together to explore the depth of their human experiences and believes that film is a great stimulus for this. Challenging the status quo is as much a political and economic struggle as cultural one and this underpins her belief in the significance of AW.
